A light aluminium cane that folds down small enough to live in a handbag, for the days and outings when you want support within reach.

  • Folds to 10.4 in. Small enough for a bag or a glovebox, and ready again in about three seconds.
  • About half a pound. Aluminium, so carrying it is not an arm workout.
  • Five height settings. Adjusts across five heights to fit the person using it.
  • Non-slip tip. A rubber tip gives the cane its grip on the floor.

Setting the height, and which hand

Stand tall with your arms relaxed. The grip should meet the crease of your wrist, which leaves about a 15 degree bend at the elbow when the cane is in use.

Hold it in the hand opposite the weaker leg. Cane and that leg then move forward together, and the cane becomes a steady third point of contact with the ground.

Looking after the tip

The rubber tip is the cane's contact patch with the world. When the tread on it wears smooth, replace it — that is the part that does the gripping.
