Fitting it to your doorway
Measure the height of your threshold lip before you order and check it against the listed rise. Fit matters here more than anything else.
For a narrow doorway, the rubber can be cut to width with a utility knife. Indoors on a clean, dry floor the ramp's own weight and grip are usually enough to hold it; outdoors, or anywhere you want it permanent, it can be adhered down.
Where a cable crosses the door
The channel moulded into the underside lets a lamp cord or similar cable run beneath the ramp and out the other side, so the cable is not lying across the floor of the doorway.
It is worth walking the house once looking only at floor transitions — most homes have two or three places where one of these would be useful.
